With this foreign prisoner exchange program who will we swap Schapelle for and what if they don't want to go?

Seriously though what do you think of the new program and how do they pick who gets to go first ?

There must other Aussie prisoners in jail in Indonesia besides Schapelle and the Bali Nine.

The prisons in Indonesia may be primitive, but there is so much corruption in Indonesia that prisoners with enough money can have a better life than others. Some even come and go from the prison at their own will.

I would therefore bring them home and put them into high security prisons.

As for other Australians in other countries --

The prisons in Thailand are appalling and if the Australians are there on Drug charges, leave them there to rot. On other charges, it depends upon the crime.

If they are in prison in Malaysia or Singapore on drug charges there is the possibility of being 'hanged', so leave them there. On other crimes I would look at whether bringing them back to Australia or not.

In Britain, Western Europe or the US I would look at the crime they were there for before saying yes or no to bringing them back home.

In Eastern Europe I would also look at the crime before making my decision. Prisons are much worse in Eastern Europe than Western Europe.

If they were in the Middle East, especially in a country with Sharia Law, I would try to get them back home, but I would also look at the crime.

The only reason they are doing this, is because Australians will stop going to Indonesia and rightly so. Who wants to get planted with drugs and end up in their disgusting prisons ?. We Aussies are loosing respect big time for Indonesia especially the way they treat the Bali Bombers. There is no sensible justice over there, but I do agree Shapelle got was coming to her, along with the Bali nine. Do the crime, then do the time. I have no time for drug users.

Let them rot where they are. Why bring them back to the holiday homes that we call prisons? Let them do their time where they did their crime.
