Question:

Withdrawal bleeding from stopping the pill, think I might still be pregnant?

Ok, first off let me state my case. I just started taking the pill in June after abstaining for a very long time. I think I might have missed one or two in June...definitely at least one. I had a normal cycle June 13th. Then just 2 weeks later at about the first week of July I started to bleed again for 2 weeks straight! very light bleeding...I was told this was break through bleeding.

Then in July I was so busy that I forgot to take 3 pills in the last week of the pink pack, not 3 in a row but 3 in the same week....I bled Aug. 9th-Aug12th pretty lightly, I dont know if this was a cycle or break through bleeding again! Was feeling pregnancy symptoms, I have other children and I know my body so I freaked and stopped the pill a few days ago. About 2 days after stopping the pill I began having 'withdrawal bleeding'.

My question is this. I know you can get a false negative with a pregnancy test if you take it too soon, but my cycle has been irregular, and I really feel pregnant, I dont know how long I should wait. I am still having withdrawal bleeding, this is day 3! I bought a 3 pack of pregnancy tests yesterday but am waiting, can I still take a test if I am bleeding or should I wait until the bleeding stops????? someone please help!

Thanks :)

  1. I was on the pill for 5yrs and came off it in may this yr to have another baby i have 2 other children.I stopped the pill on may 8th and bled on may 17th,next period was june 14,then july 12,i never got the july 12 period because i was pregnant but lost it 5 days after, fell pregnant again this mth 6 days after my period was due i lost it again. All my pregnancy tests came up positive. It might be just ur body readjusting from u takin the pill then skipping some just see how u go if u have a gut feelin ur pregnant try waitin til the bleedin is stopped then test or just go see a doctor hope this has helped.
