Question:

Withdrawal of PF amount

I had resigned from a company in 2003. Though I requested for a transfer of PF, this did not happen. I want to withdraw the PF amount and close the account. I know the PF account number. How do I go about this? There was no response to my requests to my previous employer.

  1. hi

When did u resign no matter  obtain form 10 c and 19 please fill all the

colums clearly and neatly,  attach a cheque cancelled for the proof of

bank a/c. to whcih u want the funds to get transfer. go the previous

employer and ask the authorised signatory to sign the form and  take a copy of form 3A also to attach and  submit the form directly to the PF office  and keep the acknowledgement with u.   Money has to come within 45 days.

  2. You cannot withdraw your money from PF account just like your SB account in any scheduled bank.  When you resign and join another covered establishment  you have to fill in transfer forms  and forward them to you previous and present employers to effect transfer. If you are unemployed for six months or you have joined a firm where that frim is not covered by PF, you can initiate withdrawal process, that too you have to wait for two months.  You cannot close the account just like that. You can contact the PF commissioners office and explain to them simultaneously you can also approach your previous employer to expedite transfer.  Perhaps the withholding the transfer due any dues to the company by you.

  3. Your previous employer has the form you need to fill the form & you must get it through them else you can apply directly

You can fill the PF withdrawl form (Form 19) & EPS withdrawl Form (Form 10C) and can get it signed by your employer and submit the same in PF office.

Within 3-45 days, you can get your PF/EPS withdrawl amount.
