Within the English Royal House How Many Jewish or Part Jewish People Are There?

I know that Princess Ann is married to a nice guy (he would have to be, all things considered) to a part Jewish husband. Also, other members also married part-Jewish ancestory partners. I ask this as I am part Jewish myself, and want to know about this connection.

  1. Aidant says that the Monarchy must be Church of England because the Sovereign is Fidei Denfensor, Defender of the Faith. This title was bestowed on Henry VIII (and used by every monarch afterwards) by the Pope of the day. The title refers to Henry VIII 's staunch defence of the Roman Catholic Faith when the reformation was taking hold in Europe.

  2. Any one Marrying a member of the royal family has to be a member of the church of England or that member of the royal family will lose their place in the line of secession.

  3. Actually, there are claims that while displaying the royal bloodline's family tree, Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and her British royal family are descendants from King David and Mohamed. Much is made of the fact of the royal descent from the line of David through the Irish lines from Tea or Tamar Tephi (or Telphi), daughter of Zedekiah married to an Irish prince, and their transmission into Scotland and England. However, in addition to those lines, and the one through Odin, there is a third lineage into the British Royal family that is also directly and demonstrably Davidic and came into the UK from the Hanoverian line of kings with George III. If this could be a proven fact, the current British royal family are really of Jewish ancestry.

  4. None. As a monarch of Britian (not England, they rule the whole of the UK) you have to be a member of the Church of England because one title is 'Defender of the Faith'. In order to gain this title, you have to be CofE, even Catholics aren't allowed (or especially no Catholics). As Jewish people aren't CofE, they have no right to the throne and would be expected to convert.

  5. Princess Anne's husband, Rear-Admiral Timothy Lawrence is part Jewish, I believe his grandfather changed the family name from Levy to Lawrence.

I believe he's the only current member of the Royal family with Jewish roots.

  6. Are we talking ethnic or religious Jews? If you mean the former, I don't see why 1/8 or 1/16 of Jewish blood would make any difference. If you mean the latter, then definitely none.

  7. Sadly, none of the Answers is correct. It is not the case that a Royal has to be a member of the Church Of England. They can be Druids if they wish, ... or Jewish.

It's only Catholics they can't be and STILL BE IN LINE TO THE THRONE......

Of course, were a Latter Day Saint (say) to become next-in-line then he/she could not become Monarch without becoming C.of E...... And take the Oath to become Defender of The Faith (COE PROTESTANTISM).. and this would be inconsistent with Druidism so one or t'other would have to be ditched.

    Which would you ditch??
