can one receive a free eye exam and glasses without insurance? What r the procedures?

Why would you want to get a free eye exam?

Are eye exams sort of not worth much? Does the experience or training of the person doing your exam mean not so much? Do you want a machine to test your refraction, give you a computer generated Rx, so you can get a computer generated pair of glasses, which will then not be quite right because the computer doesn't take certain parameters into account?

Sort of like getting a free heart exam during your heart attack with the cheap guy?

There are organizations that may be able to help you (pending a check of your financial status) such as the Lions Club.  Check with your local branch for more info.  You may also be able to check with your local optical shop for a referral to an organization who could help you out.
