Witton Polly, in lead of the entries for the William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes on 22nd February
The Grade A1 William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes are to be held at Newcastle on Wednesday, 22nd February. Raced over 480 metres flat, the prize money for the winner is set at £118.
Racing for the wire will be Offshore Port, Ultra Suzi Star, Rustys Bar, Rackethall Hanna, Witton Polly and Droopys Alastair.
Three on the lineup, Offshore Port, Rustys Bar and Witton Polly have posted victories through their very recent starts. Even though the three are very close competition, the strongest among the three is Witton Polly.
Head Bound’s three-year-old black and white daughter out of b***h Tiger Kitten, won her latest start by taking 29.19 seconds to race through the 480 metres track and led by 1 ½ length. She won the Grade A2 William Hill Hotbox Bet Stakes on 18th
February.
Witton Polly was the 9/4 favourite for the race.
Ever since she broke through the 2012 season, Witton Polly has not let her rankings go below the third position. Out of the seven starts that she has made this season, Witton Polly won thrice.
On 31st January, she won a 480 metres race at Newcastle in 29.35 seconds, leading by 2 ¼ lengths and setting Witton Ace second.
Her very next start was a win too. She again won over the same distance and on the same race course, this time in lead by a head’s margin and finishing the race in 30.40 seconds.
Witton Polly has won nearly half of her new season’s starts and those that could not be won, were finished decently.
Another potential threat for the lineup is Offshore Port, Judicial Pride’s four-year-old son out of b***h Judicial Choice. Trained by J. Wright, he has raced seven times during the 2012 season already, out of which three races have been attached against
his name as victories.
Offshore Port cracked through the 2012 season by winning the William Hill – The Home Of Betting on 7th January against Branxton Pickle who was the 6/4 favourite of the race and finished fifth.
On 1st February, Offshore Port won the Grade A1 Williamhill.Com Stakes at Newcastle against the 3/1 joint favourites, Adamant Flo and Ruben Red. The prior finished second while the latter ended the race fifth.
His very recent start on 18th February in the William Hill – The Home Of Betting turned into a victory. He was the 9/4 favourite for the race.
