Wizard of Oz Mystery Quote?

"If I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own backyard, because if it isn't there, I never really lost it to begin with."

i've tried wrapping my head around it, and i can't get it!! It's driving me crazy!

what i'm having trouble with is the part that says "if it ISN'T there, then i never lost it in the first place."

is it that your supposed to dream for bigger things? if what you're dreaming for isn't in your backyard, then that's good. it shouldn't be.

have i got it?

  1. A great web site with tons of useful quotations

  2. I think it has more to do with, "be happy with what you have" kinda thing. I have interpreted it as, she has everything she needs at home. True happiness is right at home, with the people who love her, and she doesn't need to go out and search for happiness. Or that she has happiness right at home and doesn't need to go out and look for love.

not sure I agree with the quote, or if that's what they are trying to say, but it's how I have viewed it

  3. If it's not in your home yard, you never had it and so could not have lost it.
