Wladimir Klitschko: I do not really believe David Haye wants a rematch – Boxing news
The IBF, WBA, WBO, IBO and Ring Magazine’s heavyweight champion of the world Wladimir Klitschko reckons the former WBA world heavyweight champion David Haye does not really want a rematch.
Wladimir added Haye knows he will get the same results.
The 30-year-old brash Londoner Haye, who lost his WBA world championship belt against the 6 ft 6.5” Ukrainian giant via unanimous decision on July 2, 2011 at Hamburg’s Imtech Arena in Germany, is desperate for a rematch now as he wants to avenge his defeat.
“I don't really believe he wants to have this rematch because the end of the fight won't be changed in any way,” said the 35-year-old.
Dr. Steelhammer, Wladimir, stated the Hayemaker, Haye, just wants another payday and nothing else. Klitschko was asked whether he is going to give Haye another chance or not, and he said he cannot say anything for sure as he needs to sleep over it.
Meanwhile Klitschko mentioned the likes of Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora and said he is aiming them as both of them are undefeated and wants to step in the ring with any one of them.
“He's talking about finances because it's a good way to make more money. Well, it's not just about money in sport. Will I concede a rematch? Maybe yes, maybe no. I have some time to think about it but there are good names such as Dereck Chisora and Tyson
Fury,” said Klitschko.
The Wladimir-Haye bout took three years in making as both pugilists first signed a contract back in 2009 but somehow the fight could not happen. However, both combatants were in the news almost all the time since then.
Wladimir thinks this was all pre-planned by Haye and he wanted to attach his name with the Klitschkos to be famous.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “I believe David Haye got his 15 minutes of fame in the last two years on the cost of the Klitschko brothers' name, because that's the way he was promoting himself.”
