Wladimir Klitschko: I will defend my titles at any cost against Jean-Marc Mormeck – Boxing news
Wladimir Klitschko, world number one heavyweight, stated that he will strive hard to defend his titles against Jean-Marc Mormeck and will not allow him to easily utilise his size adding that the French definitely possesses the ability and talent to nail
him and become the world heavyweight.
Wladimir and Jean are scheduled to constitute the main event in ESPRIT arena situated in Dusseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. The 12-round bout will have Wladimir’s all four titles on the line and will take place on March 3, 2012.
The fight originally was scheduled to take place on December 10, 2011 but the Ukrainian heavyweight pulled out of the brawl because of a stone in the kidney, an injury which later on underwent a successful surgery. Recently both men met at the pre-bout press
conference and vowed to take down each other.
Wladimir, 35, will enter in his career’s 60th brawl. He has won 56 of his total 59 brawls and has collected a whopping 49 wins by knockout. Infamous as the ‘Steelhammer’, Wladimir is the proud owner of WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO and Ring magazine’s heavyweight
titles.
With a height of 6 foot-6 inch, the Ukrainian proud is unanimously known as the number one heavyweight in the whole world. His Saturday night opponent Jean also possesses an impressive resume. Mormeck, infamous as ‘The Marksman’, has been in a total 40 brawls.
He has won 36 bouts and 22 of them by knockout. The competition between both men will be tough an instant knockout from either side is least expected. Despite of being short-heighted as compared to Wladimir, Jean has the urge to become the third cruiserweight
in boxing history to win a heavyweight title.
Wladimir while sharing his views about Jean said, “Jean-Marc Mormeck has a major goal: To become the first World Heavyweight Champion from France. He is very experienced and also has had a lot of title fights in his career. His size makes it even more difficult
for me to hit him. I will do anything to make sure to keep the belts that I have been unifying in the last years.”
Jean, on the other hand, tried to intimidate Wladimir by his determined talk and said, “I have an iron will and will break Wladimir Klitschko mentally. I am not afraid of anybody and I am sure that I will beat Klitschko and take his belts.”
The French Marksman has not entered the ring since December 2010, an aspect that might create difficulties for him. Wladimir, on the contrary, is on a huge win streak that has annihilated many men, recent being David Haye.
