  1. I think Klitschko simply has too many tools for Earnie Shavers.  Earnie didnt move his head very much and Klitschko's jab would find him too often in the early going.

Forget Wladamir's bout with Ibragamov.  That fight was boring.  Watching them attempt to swat each other's jabs, all I could hear in my head was   "Now,now, Ladies!".  No disrespect intended but it just looked weird.  LOL.

I chose to take Klitschko as he performed in the past two years.  He would keep the slower Shavers at bay.  However, if Earnie should connect....................................

    ................................BOOM!

In 12 rounds, I'll take Wladamir.  His size and jab and slightly better skills would keep Shavers at bay long enough for Wladamir to land enough straight rights to force a stoppage.

In 15 rounds I like Shavers.  Neither man has the best stamina but I think Shavers' is slightly better.

  2. Klitschko --- very easily .... Earnie now works as a doorman in Yate's in Liverpool ... very surreal when I bumped in to him on a night out! He's an absolute gentleman and takes time to talk to everyone ....

  3. Klitschko

  4. my frind in Liverpol knpws Shavers quite well,he does a lot of charity work and runs a security co,diamond of a fella but Klitchco would win here

  5. I think that if these men met 10 times Wladimir would win about 7 of them.

I think that because Earnie has the power to knock any man out if he lands then its over but most of the time against good opposition he was unable to. And Wladimir would probably win a unanimous decision.

  6. Who is Earnie Shavers?

  7. I don't know whether you remember Shavers' fight with Ali in 1977. I remember watching it as kid and thinking Shavers might KO Ali at any moment.  Shavers used to stalk his opponents and the "BANG!!", probably the hardest right cross in the history of boxing. He hit Ali with it in the second round of their fight, put him down and had him out on his feet at the end of the round (Ali went on to win on points). Ali said " "Earnie hit me so hard, he shook my kinfolk back in Africa!" Six months later Shavers went the distance with Larry Holmes, and a year after that he KO'd Ken Norton  in 1m 58s of the first round. Shavers was voted #10 in Ring Magazine's list of 100 hardest punchers in boxing and #33 in the Ring's "50 Greatest Heavyweights of All Time".

If Shavers fought Klitchko, Shavers would hit Klitchko with the same right he hit Ali with early in the fight, but Klitchko would stay down for the count.
