Wladimir Klitschko reveals why Vitali Klitschko not fighting David Haye – Boxing news
The current International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Organisation, International Boxing Organisation and Ring Magazine world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has revealed why his brother Vitali Klitschko, who is the current World Boxing Council’s
world heavyweight champion, is not fighting David Haye.
Klitschko told the media that when they first signed a contract back in 2009 with the current World Boxing Association’s world heavyweight champion, David Haye, they tossed a coin in between them. He said his brother asked him to take on David Haye but he
did not allow him, saying he will be too much for Haye.
He commented on his fight and then his brother’s fight which was scheduled with Haye in September 2009 but could not happen.
Klitschko, who has won 55 of his 58 fights including 49 by the way of a knockout, stated he told his brother now it is his turn because Haye does not want to step in the ring against him. He believes his brother Vitali, who is widely known for his powerful
punches and exceptional chin, is too strong for the Londoner.
While speaking on his inclusion, he remarked, “At the end of the day, we tossed a coin and I won [in 2009]. So then it was set on June 20th [of 2009] and as you know the fight didn't happen. We were going to fight and then he said 'no, I want to fight Vitali'
and it was set up for September [of 2009].”
“Now it's my turn, and by the way David Haye doesn't want to fight you. You hit too hard, you're too tough for him and David Haye wants to take on the weakest one of the two brothers,” said Klitschko.
David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye and Wladimir ‘Dr. Steelhammer’ Klitschko will be one-on-one on July 2, 2011 in a unification bout for the heavyweight titles at the Hamburg Arena in Germany.
Let’s see whether Klitschko once again does what he is known for in front of his home crowd of over 50,000 people.
