Wladimir Klitschko trainer Emanuel Steward claims David Haye is scared to death – Boxing news
Emanuel Stewards, who is the trainer for the IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, has claimed that the current WBA world heavyweight champion David Haye is scared to death ahead of his bout on July 2, 2011.
The Hayemaker, Haye and Dr. Steelhammer, Klitschko, both will take on each other in a highly anticipated unification bout for the heavyweight titles Saturday night at Hamburg’s Imtech Arena in Germany.
Steward told the media he has noticed whenever his fighter talks to Haye face to face, Haye gets scared.
While speaking on his inclusion, he said, “Wladimir looks into David’s eyes when he talks all that mess and just sees fear. It’s Haye who’s scared to death.”
This is going to be one of the biggest fights in British history, which will take place in Klitschko’s native country in front of an anticipated crowd of over 60,000 people and Steward believes the brash Londoner will not be able to handle the pressure.
Stewards believes when the 30-year-old, Haye, who has won 25 of his 26 fights including 23 knockouts, will see Wladimir coming from his corner along with his brother Vitali Klitschko wearing his red gown, he will definitely get nervous.
He reckons Haye, who has a big mouth and passes on a lot of comments, will come to reality at that point.
“When he (Haye) is standing in the ring come fight night, and he sees this huge man in a red robe coming out of the tunnel, surrounded by smoke, with big brother Vitali standing directly behind his (Wlad’s) shoulder wanting to get at him, all these emotions
are going to spawn reality. And as I like to say, ‘Welcome to the lion’s den David’,” Steward said.
This Haye-Wladimir bout was first decided back in 2009 but Haye pulled himself out due to a back injury. However, after a long gap, this time it is going to happen and it definitely will be a very promising fight.
Let’s see who wins this mega heavyweight showdown, as it is certainly very important for both fighters.
