Wladimir Klitschko wants to knockout Jean Marc Mormeck – Boxing News
Wladimir Klitschko, the current WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight champion, is scheduled to fight Jean March Mormeck on Saturday night in Dusseldorf, Germany. For his fight, Wladimir has said he wants to knockout his opponent to achieve his career’s
50th knockout, as right now he is at 49.
Wladimir currently holds 56 wins and 3 losses in his portfolio. He currently has 49 knockouts and if he is able to knockout Mormeck, he will reach the milestone of having 50 knockouts in his bag. On the other hand, Mormeck stands with 36 wins, 4 losses and
22 knockouts in his portfolio. Wladimir had hopes of achieving his 50th knockout against former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye last July, but he failed to do so. Now, Wladimir has another to achieve the milestone but he says he does not pressurise
himself too much over it.
In a recent interview, Wladimir said, “I will do everything in my power to knock a person out, but I won’t guarantee it. I promised a knockout against David Haye and I didn’t deliver. I’m going to do my job.”
On his failed knockout attempt against Haye, Wladimir iterated, “I had Haye on the canvas and shortly before a knockout which Klitschko could not do. What I missed out against Haye, I will do with him.”
As of now, most analysts believe that Mormeck is no match against Wladimir. In fact, they have even said that Mormeck will not even last four rounds of the fight. On this, Wladimir’s manager in his last media appearance said if a knockout happens then it
is meant to happen but that does not mean Mormeck is a mismatch. Even Wladimir explained why the fight is not a mismatch and what dangers he can face against Mormeck. However, still the notion of the fight being a one-sided one prevails.
Wladimir is highly confident of the fact that he will beat Mormeck and stop him by the fourth round. However, he still wants to take things slowly. In his last public appearance, Wladimir said he wants to make sure he puts up a good fight and not just a
violent one.
