Wladimir conveys appreciation to ‘Klitschko fans’ – Boxing News
Ukrainian heavyweight professional boxer Wladimir Klitschko has sent out a video message for all the ‘Klitschko fans’ out there to thank them for their support and interest in his previous bout against Jean-Marc Mormeck.
Wladimir acquired his career’s 50th knockout by knocking out Mormeck on Saturday night in Dusseldorf, Germany. Wladimir was defending his WBA and IBF heavyweight titles against Jean-Marc. Throughout the fight, Wladimir dominated the show, which
made it a bit wearisome. On the other hand, Mormeck tried to exhaust Wladimir but it did not work and he was knocked out by a left-right combination followed by a short left from Wladimir. It should be noted here that Mormeck had beaten the referee’s count
but since he could not walk properly, the referee called off the fight.
The video starts with Wladimir thanking his fans for their support and interest in his fights. He admits that his fight against Mormeck was not a very thrilling one but he asserts that he trained hard for it and he did what he had to do in order to defend
his titles. In other words, it sounded like as if he could have made the fight more interesting but he did not since he wanted to stay right at the point. He further says that he trained for 16 weeks for the fight and that he could not get in the ring in December
due to some health issues. He then said that he will be taking a pause from boxing for a few weeks and will then start training for another match due in June or July against Tony Thompson. The place and date of the bout is not yet decided, on which Wladimir
said he will notify his fans of the details.
Lastly, he mentioned his brother Vitali and again thanked fans for their support and acknowledgement.
Wladimir and Vitali both are world renowned fighters who have dominated the boxing world for more than a decade now. Both the brothers are heavyweight champions in their own divisions. Wladimir’s recent bout against Mormeck marked his dominance. The way
he defeated Mormeck showed how well trained and fierce he is.
