I can recommend Bottle Tree Village. You can have your meal on the decked area overlooking the Johor Straits. Really nice view.

It is also close to Sembawang Park. Maybe you can plan some activities there with all your friends before heading to Bottle Tree Village to have a birthday surprise / dinner party. It would be good if you have car. Anyway, you can also walk there. Around 15 mins... more adventurous. =D

The food is nice, unique and not expensive. You can ask the waiter / waitress to recommend their specialties. Anyway, I think it would be better if you can speak Chinese because most waiter/waitress are I think from China and they can't really speak English.

Anyway, overall is good.

Hey for a good day out you could try the Aramsa spa at Bishan Park II. You guys can spend the whole day pampering yourself in their spa and then have lunch at the Green Room cafe. They've got excellent organic vegaterian food and the garden setting is absolutly beautiful! And the prices are very resonable. If you are looking for a lovely place in the city then I strongly recommend Royal Copenghen at Takashimaya level 2 beside the bag section.

The prices are pretty reasonable and service are good.

Not just that the windows over look orchard road or the slip road between Mandarin Hotel and Ngee Ann City.

I love the atmosphere there. Not much people know about this place and a very lovely place to chill out or celebrate occassion without the noisy cattering of a normal restuarant.

They have very good tea especially if you are a tea lover.

I like Tung Lok Classic at Vivocity.

Went there in May. Order a set dinner. Really good. But try to go on a weekday, quieter.
