Question:

WoW Latency - Revised?

Ok, I play on Wowscape private server (started yesterday) But I have a big problem...I have computer that uses a linksys router, which is wirelessly connected to another computer in my house. (basically a laptop)

When I turn on WoW and select one of the servers I find that I can run around and play for about 10 seconds with the latency bar reading 0ms, but then after ten seconds it suddenly changes red and amps up to about 2k - 4k ms!!!

I have tried turning the Firewall off but it hasn't worked and also The realm: Wowscape test realm, works fine with about a 750ms latency which is very playable for me.

I know I am on a private server, but I'm sure normal WoW players have experienced the same problems. So if anyone knows a solution to my latency problem, please help me out.

Thanks -

  1. It's probably where the private server is hosted (usually some euro kids host them). If they're hosting off their computer instead of a dedicated server, your ping is going to to be massive, and leads to disconnecting as you said. Wowscape is probably hosted near where you live.
