Arsenal’s young goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is adamant on becoming the first choice shot-stopper for his side and aims to keep working hard towards that goal.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had enough of Almunia’s butter-fingers and chose to play Fabianski, despite having the Spaniard fit. However, following a shoulder concern to Fabianski, Szczesny stepped up and has managed to produce some solid performances
in front of the goal.

“That's my target really [a decade], that's my goal. I would love to [do that] but I know I have a few others that want to have the No.1 shirt. I'm going to have to be at my very best to keep it. If I am given the chance to stay the No.1 I would be very
happy to [continue],” stated the Pole.
“There is very good competition at the club so I can't say there is no threat. I know that I have to be at my very best because if there is any slip up or drop in my performance, other goalkeepers will be happy to take my place,” added the 20-year-old goalkeeper.
Szczesny added that he is lucky enough to play so many fixtures for the club as most players of his age have a long way to go before even dreaming about first team football. The shot-stopper was delighted by the way his team performed against Barcelona.
Arsenal managed a come-from-behind 2-1 victory against the Catalan Giants.
Szczesny stated that playing against Barcelona was pleasing and he felt on top of the world following the win.
