The Gunners kicked off the season in terrible fashion, as the team was sitting in the bottom half of the table. However, following the poor start, the Gunners really picked thing up later on and catapulted themselves into the top half of the table. Just when it looked like the team would be able to break into the top four, they went on to lose games to Fulham and Swansea and this has put a massive dent into the team’s hopes of finishing in a Champions League spot.
Despite that fact, it seems like the spirit around the club is at an all time high, as the player feel confident and are sure they will be able to finish in the top four.
Szczesny, when talking about the team and the possibility of them finishing in a Champions League spot is quoted to have said: "I am confident we will get into the top four"
“We should be challenging for trophies every year and I believe the results will pick up and we will at least finish in the top four because we have the quality in the squad to succeed.
"I have no idea why we can't win away from home. The results speak for themselves and we have been really poor away this season. I really can't explain it.
"We go everywhere and try to do our best but the results don't go our way. We have talked about it and cannot come up with an answer. We need to sort it out."
Arsenal are now going to take on Manchester United this coming weekend in the Premier League and the team needs to pick up at least a draw against the Red Devils, in hopes of keeping their dreams alive.
Having already been beaten by eight goals to two in the Premier League by United, Arsenal will really have to prove their worth in the game, or they could be left with no option, but to fight for a Europa League spot for the coming season.
