Woking Platform 6?

Why is this platform never used? I think I have seen it being used once! Has anyone regularly used this platform?

Ignoring the idiots who gave answers 1,2 +3, I'm looking at the Rail Atlas of GB right now: Unfortunately it's not so detailed as to show the platforms, but the following little bit of info might be of use and will hopefully mean more to you than it does to me !

The line comes in from West Byfleet, and at Woking a route diverges to the left (I'm facing south-west of course) and is the route to Guildford. The 'straight ahead' route goes on to Brookwood and then Pirbright Junction (from which branches go to Aldershot or Fleet), and there is a branch off to the right which leads to the Civil Engineering Dept.  Just beyond Woking on the left-hand route there is a "trailing" junction (they have to be reversed into) to Redland and Day Aggregates stone terminals. I hope with this little bit of info everything will 'fall into place' for you. Best wishes. It's an interesting question - and like I say, pity about the silly answers at the beginning.

no i think it is just a pasing platform. stand on it one day and see if anything stops for you.

I dont use woking station very much. more familier with west byfleet. didnt know it wsnt used.

Because train companies have to pay to use platforms thats one of the benefits of rail privatization

This is the bay platform at the western end on the down side?

As all trains now come from or go to Waterloo there is no service that 'can' use it. I can only ever remember seeing it used as a parking bay for a locomotive or the occasional goods van.

it is a old bay platform.. as you say, used by the service recovery engines.....   if there is engineering work it is sometimes used by the local trains..............
