Question:

Wolf spider with babies?

I recently discovered a HUGE wolf spider in my garage carrying many, many babies on her back. We often have wolf spiders in the garage and I don't mind them...I actually find this quite interesting. However, I am concerned that she might become aggressive toward my cats, who frequent the basement, if they get too close to her and her babies. Is this something I have to worry about? Would it harm her to move her to a different location? She seems to have set up house right next to my cats' feeding aread. Any advice (other than recommending I stomp on or spray her) would be appreciated!

LOL! How big are we talking about here when is comes to this spider that you feel can become to aggressive towards your cats and hurt your cats is it bigger then a dog?

I think  the spider has more to fear from your cats  I would move the spider so both the spider and you cats are both safe.

  3. Actually most spiders aren't overly protective of their babies. In fact, when the babies grow up a bit, they will eat the mother, just as she ate their father. They will also probably eat each other if they can. Though I'm not sure about wolf spiders specifically.
