  1. Spiders only live in healthy places.. You have nothing to fear.

But if you want there is a product miss muffets revenge. For spiders  Available in NZ.  I think also in the states or will be soon

  2. Not much but they are completely harmless.

  3. If they are coming through your a/c duct, there is not much you can do unless you can put a thin mesh between the wall and the exhaust plate. Something similar to whats in a screen door. I would check all wall and switch outlets for gaps. If there are any, tighten them or put a foam pad between the wall and the plate. They are available at most hardware stores. Also check door and window openings for gaps to stop them from coming in. Although they are considered harmless to people, a bite to your young child could be more serious. The venom they have can cause tissue damage or necrosis especially in a child.

  4. You just need to caulk all the cracks they are using as entrances.  That will also reduce your electric bills.

They are predators ... if you get rid of the crickets and roaches they are hunting you will have fewer spiders.  They also hunt other spiders.

They are not agressive, and although they have a painful bite it's dangerous.  It's mostly their size and speed that freaks people out.

  5. They are harmless, but they look scary as h**l.  I had them in my house last year and in the yard all over the place.  Try Ortho max it has done wonders for our family.  Spray it on the borders window seals inside and out around door frames.  It works.
