I live in kansas and we have alot of wolf spiders in our basement, and I am going to sleep down there tonight, if I did get bit what would happen. I need to know how you know that and proof cause I don't want an answer that might be wrong.

I look up about wolf spiders and it said it could rot all of your arm if you get bit there.

  1. I'm 14 but I've had a facination with spiders and Wolf spiders are my fave! I HAVE held some of them and the bite is not bad, but most dont bite. the rotting is a Brown Recluse Spiders bite... Wolfies are grey and black and hairy and CAN jump.

    Sleep well as he said!

  2. Here are some tid-bits from sites about Wolf Spider bites. Hope they help.

The bite of the Wolf Spider is poisonous but not lethal. Although non-aggressive, they bite freely if provoked, as many other animals. The bite may be very painful. First aid and medical attention should be sought as soon as possible, particularly as to children or the elderly.

Bites from a wolf spider can cause pain, redness and swelling.

If bitten by a wolf spider, the wound should not be bandaged but an ice pack should be placed on the bite so that the swelling will go down. And if necessary the victim should avoid any movement if at all possible. It is extremely important that one sees medical attention if bitten by a wolf spider or any other spider.

  3. You should be fine unless you go out of your way to bother THEM....Here's a link to Wikipedia's entry on Wolf Spiders. Their venom (unless you live in Australia or South America) isn't that toxic - a bee sting type level.

    Sleep well!
