The DFB president believes that the German League is certainly better than the Spanish La Liga, if not the English Premier League.
The German Bundesliga has left behind the Italian Serie A in the UEFA Association ranking in the last two seasons to secure all four places for the UEFA Champions League. The league is still behind the likes of the English Premier
League and the Spanish La Liga in the list, but there has been great progress recently which is a positive sign.
Niersbach claimed that the Bundesliga has certainly made its way to become one of the best leagues in Europe over the past few years. The league has had consistent growth in attendance and has the best average in Europe which shows
the level of competition and passion in the country for football.
The chief claimed that the German league provides great suspense to the fans as there are multiple teams competing for the title which is certainly not the case in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011, where two teams fight it out for the title every year.
He insisted that the Real Madrid-Barcelona dominance has made the Spanish League predictable and labelled La Liga as a two horse race year in year out.
The president added that in Germany, it is a different scenario altogether as there are multiple teams fighting for a place at the top of the table. Borussia Dortmund have been the winners in the last two years whereas Bayern Munich
have reached the final of the UEFA Champions League last term.
“In the Spanish championship, the suspense is reduced to the question: who will be champion – Real Madrid or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604? Here, it is more open. It is true that Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich are the favourites, but who knows
whether or not Borussia Monchengladbach or Schalke will finish ahead of them?” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Niersbach’s comments have a lot of logic considering Real Madrid and Barcelona have won a staggering 53 league titles between them from a total of 81 seasons in the top flight. In comparison, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 has had five different league
winners in the last ten years.
