The DFB President has congratulated both the players and the manager on winning this season’s Bundesliga.
Bundesliga president, Wolfgang Niersbach, has showered praise on the Borussians who were able to retain their Bundesliga crown this season. He was talking after Dortmund brushed aside Borussia Monchengladbach at the weekend to
close any doors on Bayern Munich to win the crown.
Niersbach claimed that Dortmund deserved to win the crown this season after their emphatic display throughout the course of the campaign. He mused that all the players were determined and performed above expectations. The President
confirmed that the Black Yellows are worthy winners and have been able to weaken Bayern’s dominance in the Bundesliga.
While talking to official Bundesliga website, Niersbach further commented: “Borussia Dortmund are worthy champions because they have played with a contagious desire that enthralls even the most neutral spectator. You never had
the impression that they would take their foot off the pedal after winning the title in 2011.”
On the other hand, the Bundesliga supremo also showered praise on Dortmund manager, Jurgen Klopp, who has been able to torch new light among the Dortmund ranks. He also opined that if the Borussians continue playing in the same
manner then they will also be able to create an impact in next season’s UEFA Champions League after a disappointing 2011/12 season where they were dumped out after the group stage.
“Knowing Jürgen Klopp as I do, he'll give everything to make an impact in the Champions League too. I'm delighted for Reinhard Rauball [Dortmund club president], who's been instrumental in their sporting and economic success in
recent years,” Niersbach concluded.
The Westfalenstadion outfit is currently atop the league standings with 75 points, eight clear of second-placed Bayern Munich who could only end up with 73 points now with two games remaining in the competition. However, the Munich
giants will have a chance to avenge their title loss when they meet Jurgen Klopp’s men in the final of the German Cup next month in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536.
Dortmund will next be in action against FC Kaiserslautern on Saturday, April 28, at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion while Bayern will travel to Real Madrid for the second-leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final on Wednesday, April
25.
