Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath blasts his side for lack of effort

won and the side which did not work hard deserved to lose in the end. He added that the game should have won as the opposition has had a poor season but it was not to happen.
The Wolves suffered their eighth loss of the current season in the Bundesliga when they lost to FC Augsburg at the SGL Arena on Saturday. The home side secured their first home win of the season but are still bottom of the table
with only 11 points from the 14 games played.
Magath claimed that his side lacked passion and determination in the match and were surely not up to the mark which is why they deserved to lose. He insisted that the hosts were more eager to get a result and kept on pressing in
the midfield which made some good chances for them.

“The side who won was the side which put in more effort. Augsburg knew what was at stake in this game and they played a great battling game. We did not accept the fight and, as a result, we deserved to lose,” he was quoted as saying
in an interview.
The former Schalke manager admitted that he definitely expected a better performance from his side in the match but was left disappointed with the display in the end.
“We did not have enough players out there today who gave enough effort for such a game and when you face a side who are down at the bottom of the table, you have got to be prepared to fight, but we did not do that,” he concluded.
Wolfsburg are now sitting in 12th place with 16 points from the 14 games played. They have won five times and suffered a staggering eight defeats so far in the league.
