to achieve the same feat with the current side after joining from Schalke this year.
The former Bayern Munich manager guided the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 to their first ever Bundesliga title in the year 2009 after two years at the club. He joined Schalke in the summer of 2009 and had a mixed two years at the club before being sacked
in March this year. He was re-appointed as the Wolfsburg manager one day later and saved the club from being relegated.
Magath claimed that it took him two years to develop a team capable of winning the German league title in 2009 but admitted that the situation nowadays has become a bit difficult as there is a lot of competition. However, he remained
confident that the club will be challenging for the league title in the next three years as the side is still in a rebuilding process.
“The last time (in 2009) it took two years to do it. Now the situation is a bit harder. So we should add a year to that,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Die Knappen boss is confident that the team is on its way up in the standings table. He hailed the side for a good performance in the 1-1 draw against Hamburg and targets a top-four finish at the end of the season.
“Now it will be starting to go up with Wolfsburg. Then we will also make the Champions League at some point and then we will see if the end there will be in the semi-finals or if we will advance a step further than that,” he concluded.
Wolfsburg are currently placed 11th on the Bundesliga table with 13 points from the 10 games played so far this season. They will host Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 on Saturday, October 29, in search of their fifth win of the campaign.
