The former Schalke boss insisted that the team is well prepared for the battle against Augsburg and want to win the derby.H
“We have got to try to stick to this path now for once. We may have played our best game of the season last weekend, but we only managed to do that because we were very engaged and concentrated for the derby,” he was quoted as
saying in an interview.
Magath added that the club’s main goal would be to perform well in all matches, not only against the smaller sides at the bottom of the table. He admitted that the opposition will be determined to secure their first home win and
his players will have to defend well to stop them.
“Our aim is not to only beat teams from Lower Saxony - we want to climb the table. They are going to do all they can to win their first home game and the only way we can prevent that is by giving it everything from the beginning,”
he concluded.
Wolfsburg will travel to FC Augsburg on Saturday to clash at the SGL Arena and will be in search of their sixth success in the Bundesliga this season.
