Wolfsburg midfielder Diego reveals his desire to play in the EPL, Aston Villa and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 show interest
Diego has decided to part ways with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg after an unsuccessful spell with them in the 2010-2011 season. He joined Wolfsburg on a club record transfer fee of €15.5 million in the summer of 2010 from Serie A side Juventus.
However, he did not do well with the German side in terms of discipline and over performance. He managed to score just six goals in 30 appearances in the league. He was fined twice for failing to follow the instructions of the manager.
At the end of the highly unsuccessful season Diego has decided to part ways with the German side, and revealed he was most likely to end up in the English Premier League. He has so far been linked to Aston Villa and Liverpool.
The attacking midfielder confirmed his desire to play football in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 and that he had received interest from many top Premier League sides. Diego said in an interview:
“At this moment I desperately want to play in England. There are talks with several clubs just starting.
It is way too early to admit my destination. Anyway, it would be perfect to feature in the Premiership in the future.”
While no offers have been made for the 26-year-old as yet, he insisted the possible move was still in its early stages but he expected there to be progress by the end of the transfer window. He continued:
“I will definitely consider all offers in a careful manner. It is my dream to play in the Premiership. I am looking forward to getting a solution.”

He then transferred to Serie A side Juventus on a long-term five year deal for a fee of €24.5 million in 2009, but after 47 appearances and 7 goals, Diego moved back to the Bundesliga. This time he transferred to Wolfsburg.
Now that he is nearing a Wolfsburg exit and having alerted the Premier League sides, it remains to be seen who registers a bid for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 international. He is worth an estimated £10-12 million, with Aston Villa apparently prepared to give £10 million
to secure his services.
