The Wheel Covers are looking forward to a new era for the German club with the appointment of Klaus Allofs, and it seems Werder Bremen will struggle to cope without the experienced tactician
Klaus Allofs have been named the new sporting director as well as team manager for Wolfsburg. He left Werder Bremen to link up with Die Wolfe this week after serving at his previous club since 1999. He worked alongside Bremen coach
Thomas Schaaf for the last 13 years and thought it was right time to make a move.
The experienced trainer will fill the void left by veteran manager Felix Magath who was sacked three weeks ago. He claimed that he is honoured to manage Bremen for a long period of time. However, he admitted it was a tough decision
to finally say farewell as he had enjoyed great times at the Bundesliga outfit.
The 55-year-old stated that he was delighted to end his association with the club on good terms. He further added that he is pleased to embark on a new challenge with the struggling http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952. He suggested that his new side have the
potential to improve their league standings and become successful in the near future.
"I would like to thank Werder Bremen for the past 13 years. I think it is understandable that after such a long, beautiful time, it is not so easy to leave it behind. That is why I am so grateful that we were able to part on friendly
terms. Personally, I am now very happy to be here," he added.
"I am absolutely convinced that Wolfsburg have excellent conditions to take some steps forwards in future. I am looking forward to this task because we can still take Wolfsburg a long way,” he finally concluded.
Allofs had an amazing tenure with Werder Bremen as he helped them to a German double in 2004, and also aided them to reach the final of the 2009 UEFA Cup. On the other hand, Wolfsburg won the German League three years ago but finished
8th last year. They are currently in 16th place and will be hoping to register a win on the weekend.
