The 23 year old, who has enjoyed stupendous success in Portugal, has been on the radar of Liverpool and Manchester United, and was earlier linked to a move to Anfield in January.
The Holland International came to Sporting on a five year contract last summer, for an estimated fee of about five million Euros. Since his move, he has made 40 appearances for the Portuguese side, and has scored 19 goals during this period. He also played
a pivotal role in his side’s Europa League successes this season, scoring 5 goals in 11 matches.
He scored in the second leg of the quarterfinal against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Metalist-Kharkiv-c39162, to steer his side into the last four of the competition.
Currently, Sporting are placed fourth in the Portuguese league table, and lag behind league leaders http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 by thirteen points.
The Dutchman revealed that he is having a great time at Lisbon at the moment, but will be interested in a possible move to England in the future.
"I know that a lot of Dutch players play in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. It's a really good competition and I do see it as a step up. It's a step to take maybe in the future, but we will see about that when it happens.” He said while talking to reporters.

"If someone comes along and wants to pay a lot of money to the club and to me, then maybe we would speak about that. But we would both have to be happy about it. I signed for five years here because I really wanted to be here and I am really happy."
The Holland International was also hopeful of making it into the national squad, for the Holland’s Euro 2012 campaign.
