Wolverhampton Wanderers rope in Jamie O’Hara on loan
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan for the remainder of the 2010-11 season.
The 24-year-old was present in the stands to watch Wolves play against Stoke City in the FA Cup fixture and has completed the medical to make his switch to the Molineux possible. His loan switch was announced following the game and the midfielder was extremely
delighted by the support he received from the crowd.
O’Hara has failed to find his footings with the North London club, despite climbing up the youth ranks at Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur before making his debut in December 2005. Since then, he has gone out on loan to three different clubs, Millwall, Chesterfield
and Portsmouth. His move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 will be the fourth of his career.
The former English under-21 player has made a full recovery from the long-term back injury and took part in two consecutive practice matches with Tottenham. O’Hara is now eager to get more playing minutes to gain full fitness and therefore welcomed the loan
move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Many premier league clubs were in pursuit of signing the 24-year-old on loan, with West Ham United as the favourites. However, it took some good negotiations from Wolves manager Mick McCarthy to snap up the midfielder.
In his 113 appearances in the English system, O’Hara has scored 12 times and has the ability to play in the centre of the midfield but needs to work on his passing ability and holding skills.
Tottenham are overcrowded with many midfielders and the likes of Rafael Van Der Vaart, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 do not give O’Hara much of a chance to become a regular. Should his loan term be successful with Wolves, he may well become a part of the
plans for Harry Redknapp.
