The win lifted http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini’s side to 80 points from 35 games, and they will now take on United in an all important derby match, on the 30th of April.
On the other hand, the defeat for Wolves meant that they became the first team to get relegated from the top division this season.
The Wolves boss Terry Connor, said after the game, “It’s really emotional and raw day, not only for myself but for the staff, players, supporters and everyone connected with the club.”
City went on the offensive right from the start of the game. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Hart-c18699 saw a deflected
shot from Sebastien Bassong loop over the goal.
The visitors came close of grabbing the lead through Aguero, after Gael Clichy played a wonderful through ball to the Argentine, only to see the striker miss the target by inches.
Joe Hart then prevented the hosts from going ahead, as he kept out a ferocious 20-yard shot from Stephen Fletcher.
City, who were creating most of the chances, again failed to grab the initiative as Aguero dragged another effort off-target from close range.
However, the Argentinean immediately made amends for his mistake, as he put his side ahead, close to the half-hour mark.
Clichy picked up an unmarked Aguero at the edge of the box, who calmly dispatched the ball low past the Wolves goalkeeper, to score his 29th goal of the season.
The home side came close of capturing the equalizer after the halftime break. Fletcher fired a header from a high ball towards the far post, but his effort was parried away by the City shot stopper.
The away team became increasingly restless, as they failed to grab the second goal which would settle the affair.
However, Nasri calmed the nerves of his manager in the 74th minute. Tevez played the pass towards Yaya Toure and Nasri, and the latter was the first to reach to the ball. He slotted the ball home into the bottom left corner, to grab the second
goal for his side and helped them secure three points from the game.
