Woman please help me with menswear question?

I'm going to a wedding tomorrow and just bought a nice pair of flat front charcol grey slacks with lighter grey pinstripes.

My question is this, is it o.k. to wear a shirt that has vertical stripes as well. Both the shirt and the pants have thin subtle pinstripes.

My shirt is a lavendar color (really nice) with faint lighter lavendar stripes.

Also, what sort of tie would I wear? I was thinking a sold charcol grey tie. What do you think?

  1. well you can mix patterns in a suit and a shirt, as long as one is subtle, and you can carry the same pattern from a suit to the pants, but unless the verticle stripe on your suit and your pants are the same, I would say solid pant. and yeah i'd go for a solid tie as well

  2. don't do stripes

try getting a solid color shirt and maybe a tie with designs

  3. that's fine and you should wear a grey tie if it were silk.

  4. Sounds like a very nice outfit to me.

  5. sorry but i think you would weird wearing all vertical strips

  6. NOOOOo fashion no no.

    wear a solid color polo

  7. i think it would be fine! if the stripes arent too noticeable! if they are larger stripes, then wearing a top with bottoms that have stripes. will look too busy! meaning there is too much going on with ur outfit especially since the stripes are going different directions....

it might match but honestly it all depends with the stripes!

and yes a nice gray tie would look nice with it :)

  8. nope nope nope
