Woman says I dinged her car?

Ok; this morning at the commuter bus parking. I parked my car and as I was walking away, the woman in the brand new BMW got out of her car and told me that I had dinged her car.

But I did not. She said all she needs is my license plate number which she wrote down.

I showed her that:

1- If I did open my car door and attempt to touch her car, the contact point is more than 1foot away from the ding

2- The edge of my door has rubber and it can't cause any scratches.

I think she just someone to pay for her ding to her brand new BMW.

I called the police but this was not an emergency and that this was in a private bus company parking so they won't send anyone.

I called my insurance company immeadiately and took a lot of photos.

Does this woman have any claim on me?

  1. This is one of those "he said, she said' situations. It's like being accused of a crime you didn't commit, yet having to go to court to prove you're innocent ! Sucks for sure.  Good luck !!

  2. You were wise to demostrate that the contact point of your door swing did not correspond to her ding location. And if your pictures show that, you have a good case.

She has no proof, no ticket was issued, so I think you  are safe.

However, the rubber on your door edge will not prevent a ding. So that argument will not help.

  3. All she can do is take you to small claims. Keep your photos. And since there is no police report to substantiate her claim, she's going in there with a case based on "I think he did it". Won't work with the judge.

If what you are saying is true, she has little chance off winning. Unless someone witnessed you doing the deed, the judge will probably tell her "ma'am, if you're that friggin' serious about it, have your insurance take care of it."

To borrow a phrase from the parlance of our times, I'd tell her to "go pound sand".

  4. it happened on private property the police won't come over

  5. no your ok especially since you have evidence that it wasnt possible for you to do it. she just sounds like a ***** that thinks shes better than everyone else cause shes driving a new bimmer

  6. Great design, resourceful information,user-friendly layout should be a good place to answer your questions.http://car-insurance.bestips.info/car-in...

  7. You are too nice to her. If I am you, I will just give her a middle finger and walk away. Call whoever she wants... and claim whatever she likes, I don't think anyone will take this case.

(I guess you are right for taking a photo, I will take a picture of her license plate too just in case she is going to do funny thing to your car.)

Door dings...this really happens all the time at public parking.

  8. I don't think there's anything she can do about it..unless possibly the ding on her door has traces of paint from your car or something.

It's really your word against hers..and I'm not really sure how the deal with something like that.

If there's nothing on her car to prove that it was your car that caused the ding, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
