Woman wants justice, claims to have "vision problems" after punch from Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall - NFL News
The young woman who accused new Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall of hitting her in the face during a melee at a New York nightclub has come out with her own statements to the media.
Christin Myles, who was partying at the night club before the incident to celebrate her 24th birthday with friends alleged that the wide receiver punched her in the face after an argument with her friends leaving her with a black eye and blurred
vision.
“My eye still hurts. I still have problems with my vision.”
Marshall who has a history of off the field incidents and run-ins with the law denies the accusations and in his introductory press conference with the Chicago Bears said that the truth will eventually come out surrounding the incident.
His accuser though is confident in her case and wants justice from the courts.
“I want him held criminally accountable for what he did to me,”
The woman who visited the 10th Precinct in Manhattan on Thursday, with her lawyer, Sandford Rubenstein, has till date not filed a civil lawsuit over the encounter with her lawyer telling reporters that she is looking for justice.
He also said that she described to Police the events surrounding the case in detail and also showed her injuries to the officers.
“She described to them in detail what happened on the street in front of the club when Brandon Marshall hauled back and punched her in the face, hitting her eye and causing her to be violently thrown to the ground,”
Marshall on his part has denied all accusations and claims that he was trying to get out of the nightclub with his wife as soon as the fighting broke out.
His wife was also hit in the face by a flying bottle and is currently in hospital.
This latest case has overshadowed what was one of the most surprising moves in the current free agency as the Bears traded two third round draft picks with the Miami Dolphins to prise the 27-year-old.
Both Chicago Bears general manager, Phil Emery and coach, Lovie Smith, were aware of the incident which occurred on the weekend before Marshall’s move and have said that they did all their homework on the player.
More news on this case is likely to be revealed soon as court proceedings begin.
