Women, about men’s fragile egos, must they feel superior in order to feel comfortable in a relationship?

Guys: is it the truth that most guys don't like woman who are smarter than them?

Depends on the man! I've dated men who are only too happy to relinquish the upper hand (annoying), and others that demand to be in charge (also annoying).

I don't feel like that at all; I have great men and women in my life. All of us are equal my guy, my friends, my family. I have never felt from them that I am worth less than they are.

I have come across bad people in my life; but if they choose to be like that I don't waste my time with them. At the point I am in my life and everyone who is in it; to me we're all equals, we're all happy and we enjoy each others company.

Yes I have come across men who think they are smarter than everyone, the same with women. People just have to get a grasp on their egos (everyone, not just men) We are all something, but none of us are everything.

No, not for me anyway, smarts and talents are attractive and if she is smarter than me in some ways, im going to be smarter than her in others. Its all good so long as the smarter one is not abusing their advantage to control their partner.

About fragile egos, i don't believe a mans is any more fragile than a woman's. i think if a man did go out to damage a woman's ego, the results would be the same. he is just less likely to try. we don't even bring it up but you will see on these boards and know because you are a woman, that trying to damage a mans ego is considered normal behavior.

You seem to ask questions from a misandrists's perspective, i hope you are responsible when influencing your students.

Yeah men like to make them feel like they are the dominant one. Not a lot of men I think care on a women's superior intelligence but a guy I know doesn't like the fact that I am smarter then him and have a better job.

I try not to make the guy feel bad but when he talks c**p about me I just come back to him even smarter. It's a talent.

Some men think it's great to have a smart women.

The key word is 'fragile ego'. Don't be with someone who is so insecure - people like that tend to need to squash someone else down to boost their own self esteem. It's not worth it.

Fragile Egos - I didnt think it was gender specific. A person with a low self-esteem will have his ego hurt more and often than someone who knows themself better.

hmmm good question. I'd feel a little insecure if I was with a girl who was a lot smarter than me. Being with a girl who's my equal is perfect, though.. i want someone who can challenge me as well.

as for the fragile thing, does "h**l hath no fury" ring a bell? women can be worse than us sometimes, we just show it in very different ways

If you meet guys like that, don't date them!

Lots and lots of guys want an relationship with an equal partner.    The fragile ego types are in a minority now and less likely to get dates!
