Women, do you get annoyed???

if your new boyfriend starts saying "hi" to you on some pretext or the other, every single day?? is this too much?

-- There's a difference between checking in with someone and checking up on her.  Perhaps you're giving the wrong impression.

-- WHEN are you contacting her?  Are you interrupting her at work or school or some other activity important to her?  

-- Do you expect her to drop everything just to chitchat with you?

All of the above would be very annoying.

Why would you need a pretext to say 'hi?'  Most people in a new relationship tend to be pretty excited about each other.  That's all the excuse you need.

"Some pretext or the other" What exactly do you mean? If you think that you're being annoying, don't worry. Your girlfriend shouldn't be annoyed that you're being nice.

Forget what people consider the norm.  There is no set practice for how things should be done socially.  Everyone's different, so if it works, then it doesn't matter what some magazine or T.V. show says.  If it doesn't work, or more specific to your question, if his behavior annoys you; tell him.  Say something along the lines of "I like that you are thoughtful enough to greet me everyday, but I find it a little creepy".  Communication is key.  All conflicts arise from people not understanding and respecting other people's needs and/or poorly conveying their own needs.

not at all, she should be flattered that your thinking about her! And if she really likes you then she should love it.

If she gets annoyed by it it prob means she doesn't really like you or is very high maintenance, both being good reasons to find another girl that will appreciate you
