Question:

Women, how many protein shakes a day?

I work out every day. 2 days out of the week Its not to strenuous but the other 5 days I do 30 minutes of weight lifting, and 30, 45 or 60 minutes of cardio.

Question: 3 meals, plus 3 protein shakes at 110 calories each low fat low carb. How does that sound? Is this good or bad?

I’m not over weight but would say athletic looking, maybe even too much muscle. But I want to drop 10 pounds, so maybe I’m taking in to much protein?

  1. If you want to lose muscle mass then you shouldn't be taking extra protein at all. Protein is just building calories for muscles. In order to lose weight I would recommend doing more cardio and looking into supplements.

    I take CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) and Green Tea Supplements. CLA is a fatty acid that has been proven to reduce body fat as well as other benefits such as fighting cancer. Green Tea boosts metabolism as well as helping with appetite.  


  2. As minimal as possible. Protein shakes are good when you're in a hurry, but whole foods are better for you. Try to eat good, clean meals, and only a shake when you're in a hurry.

    You want to consume 1-2x your body weight in grams of protein.

    So if you weigh around 130, consume around 130-260g of protein!

    I'm glad you are doing more cardio than weight lifting! That is great.

    Tip:

    Protein shake immediately in the morning (you should also take it with a multi-vitamin

    Protein shake 1 hour before workout (for energy, performance, and muscles to absorb protein)

    Protein shake immediately after workout (for immediate absorption and growth since muscles have been lifting heavily)

    Protein shake right before bed (optional but recommend since some protein shakes digest slowly and will improve your muscle growth in your sleep!)
