Women's experiences in the Peace Corps?

Hi all-

I'll be going into the Peace Corps in a year or so - probably latin america- and am wondering what advice any of you female returnees or applicants have about it, especially when it comes to dealing with more traditional gender roles and harassment.

Indeed, join one of the many PeaceCorps discussion groups on YahooGroups, look for PeaceCorps blogs written by women (very easy to find via Google), and look at http://www.peacecorpsonline.com

Also, for whatever country you are going to be placed, by the Lonely Planet guide for such. That will give you the best advice regarding how foreign women are viewed in the country, and cultural do's and don'ts.
