Question:

Women's groups ruining britain for men?

Harriet Harman has made it so employers are allowed to be biased towards women when it comes to filling job positions. Men now have very little power when it comes to divorce and child custody. Marriages failing more and more due to growing tension between men and women. Most of this is down to women's rights groups in britain. They just seem to think that men don't count at all. Its a law and justice system designed to protect women. Anyone else noticed this? Also, anyone else think feminists and women's rights groups are giving women a bad name? They seem to be all for the supremacy of women over men and not for equal rights at all. Come on, talk to me people. Am I the only one that thinks this?

  1. Many know of what you speak.

After all they need al those extra laws and discrimination to balance out all the years when they were discriminated against. Personally I hvent seen women discriminated against - but I have seen a number of times men being discrimated against.

Get used to it. It has to get worse yet. A lot worse.

@Rio .. "the personal is political", ring any bells?

  2. So were things better when men had all the power at work and in divorce/custody laws? Were marriages better when women had to endure bad marriages because she would have no life on her own? Would you be happier when the justice system didn't consider women people and therefore didn't have rights to propery or their own bodies? Perhaps you don't know your history well enough to truly appreciate what feminism has done for you.

  3. I think the feminists have the wrong end of the stick, They want the rest of womankind to dance to their tune of "empowerment" but most women could not give a toss about what some over privileged middle class Guardianista girlies say or do. They mistake feminism with equality, they are not the same thing at all.

  4. So, my question to you is; why don't the good feminist women do something to fight against the bad feminists? There are many feminist women who notice the problems  with these woman, and disscuss about it openly, but I haven't yet heard of anyone doing anything about it.

  5. They never seem to get the 'balance' right do they? It is just a fact of life. Some things are not fair.

  6. I agree. Feminism has gone too far in Western society; we already have equal rights, and all the modern policies have done is take away the rights of men. I think it's hilarious that Harriet Harman is titled  the "Equality Minister". Recently, she made it legal for women to kill their husbands if they "fear violence".

  7. Yes, I tend to agree. We should all be competing on equal terms. I certainly don't want to see men turned into second class citizens.

  8. "PC feminists were attempting then (and now) to secure ever greater financing for these operations. Sandra Horley, director of Chiswick in 1992, reportedly complained, "if we put across this idea that the abuse of men is as great as the abuse of women, then it could seriously affect our funding."

To quote Rio "Harriet Harman and her ilk are the fringe. You'll note that the feminists here oppose ideas like hers and want to include men in achieving substantial equality"

Harriet Harman and her ilk, are feminism, it does not matter what ineffectual feminist commentators say feminism is or isn't, feminism is defined by its extremists because, in this movement, the lunatics truly have taken over the asylum.

Its time to stop legitimising and making excuses for these people .

Lets not accept fascism in any way shape or form.

  9. You're not the only one who thinks this, but that doesn't make it 100% true. Harriet Harman and her ilk are the fringe. You'll note that the feminists here oppose ideas like hers and want to include men in achieving substantial equality.

However, you can't attribute failing marriages to feminism or women as a whole. That's purely personal.

  10. When they have to make laws so as certain groups have to be treated equally it shows you that that they aren't equal it is only a law that makes them so not actuality

  11. Actually, this is a proposed bill, not a passed law, so Harriet Harman hasn't made anything yet.

And this bill also makes it legal for employers to discriminate in favour of men to balance all-women teams.

It also addresses age and race discrimination.  You seem to know very little about politics in the UK, so I would assume you know equally little about the feminist movement as well  :-)

  12. Men ruled britain for hundreds of years.  I would say they did a smashing job of ruining their country not only for themselves but for women and children as well.

  13. i would agree but some pc plod would call me sexist

  14. I agree with you completely. When women demand prefferential treatment for hiring, they're basically saying, "I am not mentally/physically able to do most work, so I need a helping hand...you must hire me instead of me making myself a better employment candidate!"

I agree that they are looking for the supremacy of women rather than equality. They demand that women are catered to...they don't care that laws are in place to help prevent and rectify illegal hiring practices. Laws can't prevent murder, but they can punish the murderer. The same is true with laws regarding equality. They can't FORCE equality, but they can ensure that the offending party is punished for breaking the law!

  15. I agree to an extent, I think because of the past there should be some feminism because in the past women were treated like dirt. However, some (so-called) Women's-Rights groups take it too far and act like men mean nothing.

But the law system is not biased for women, women still get paid less than men and are often blamed in a situation that is not their fault - Such as rape.

People just need to see, women can't survive without men same as men cannot survive without women, we all need to stop trying to out-do eachother. Of course, this will never happen.

  16. for years it as been a mans world and in a lot of third world countries it still is, while in the western world women are taking their place at the top in industry and government, what I say is if a woman can do the job better than a man so be it, gone are the days when the woman was looked on as some one to have children and clean the home and cook the meals, it should be give and take by both man and woman

  17. So you believe everything that is reported on the news? It all must be the truth?

Harriet Harman actually does know something about the law, believe it or not, even though she must just sit up at night thinking what feminist plan could she hatch next?

So, you are saying everything is in women's favour, so you must accept that up until this it must have been very much in men's favour, but that wasn't really a problem, eh?

Divorce and child contact is biased in favour of women?  You think that because a few high profile celebrity cases get in the press and exorbitant fees and figures are bandied around so all women must do well out of divorce?  You do accept that single parents are viewed as some of the poorest in society? You also do accept that many of them are 'divorced' or lone parents who are not, surprise, surprise left financially better off by divorce.  Far from it. And if you are still unconvinced that greedy, scheming women are not coining it in from the poor men who must give them all their hard earned cash for those pesky kids, why has the CSA been defunct? How hard is it to collect the billions owing to lone mothers on this island? Oh! yep! too hard so lets shut it and forget about it.  Why do you think Labour have tried so hard to improve the lot of children living in poverty many with single mothers?  Not all widows, or teen mums, but divorcees!!!

And just why are men suffering? Have they lost any basic human rights? No...they are being asked to share what they have enjoyed for generations.  At work, simply, a man earns £1  and a woman for the same work, 70p.  Can we have the same please, for the same work?  Oh! how they suffer!!!!

When divorce became easier for women to obtain in the 60's, the 1960's so not ancient history, overwhelmingly the grounds were brought by women and they were for domestic abuse and unreasonable behaviour, those figures are still pertinent today.  Tension...that would be like calling what is going on in Georgia a bit of a tiff!

OK...you are not sexist, you have swallowed the age old b******s that people put about that somehow we can only be given any rights as long as they do not adversely affect men, and you know that isn't equality, that is still subordination.

Please tell me when the feminists got so powerful? Where are they? Do you also think that now the laws says you can employ women 'cos the government says so that age old sexism is going to be reversed over night?  Harriet Harman is the most powerful person in the sexist establishment, oh! how deluded.

Good luck with the b/f by the way, he sounds like a peach!
