  1. Women have been present all through history, but because of male dominance (legally),  and as a part of society, they were not "allowed" to make much of any significance in history.

That said, I do not ignore the fact that women have made some historical significance’s, but I would like to point out that they were infrequent throughout history.

With women given the equal rights of men, and sometimes more, in today's society, it is likely that in new age history, women will be more prevalent in chronicle texts.

  2. I recently read a book that is along these lines.  It is The Needle's Eye: Women and Work in the Age of Revolution by Marla R. Miller.  She did extensive research on seamstresses and the related fields in which women worked, and how it impacted local and national societies during the revolutionary time.  Depending on what information you need, there's a lot of information and many sources in the book.

  3. Susan B. Anthony.

    Betsy Ross.

  4. Have you heard anything about, for instance, Rosa Luxemburg or Klara Tsetkin (Germany, the revolution in 1918), Nadezhda Krupskaya (Russia, 1917)?

  5. "Rosie Riveter"

  6. I'm not sure I understand the whole question but I can point out some of my favorite women in history

    1. Joan of Arc - yes some call her a little crazy. However she changed the course of the 100 year war. Up until she came a long France was being slaughtered by England. Then ol' Joan rallied the French pride and bravely led them into battle after battle. Whether she got her military plans from an angel or her own little mind, either way they were brillant. Her death (burned to the stake by the English) is what eventually pushed the French to victory.

    2. Elizabeth I - ruled England for 45 and help make her one of the most powerful nations of that time. She was incredibly brillant and greatly encouraged the age of exploration. She also allowed religious freedom in England. Something that was not common at all.

    3. Harriet Tubman - a black woman who escaped from her slave owner. She then went back and helph dozens of others escape as well. Her nickname was Moses.

    4. Clara Barton - She founded the Red Cross and was known as "the angel of mercy". Though she sided with the Union army during the civil war, she would often brave the battle field to help soldiers on both sides war.

    5. Corrie Ten Boon - Lived in Germany and bravely helped Jews escape until she was captured and placed in a concentration camp.

    6. Rosa Parks - she stood for her rights and got the ball rolling towards civil rights

7.Margaret Thatcher - the prime minister of England during the cold war. Together with Reagan they were able to keep the threats of the Soviet Union to just that, threats. She lead with strength yet also grace.

  7. I think you mean "revolutionaries".

  8. Well, you might write about some of the women who were active in the women's suffrage movement, like Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucy Stone, etc.  Or you could write about the women who were active in the Civil Rights movement, like Rosa Parks, for instance, who set the whole thing off in 1955.

Or you could write about some of the women who participated in the American Revolutionary War, like Deborah Sampson for instance who disguised herself as a man to join the army, or Margaret Corbin, who fought alongside her husband and is buried at West Point.  There are many other heroines of the revolutionary war you might write about.

Take no notice of the idiotic comment from the person who said that women couldn't do anything up until about 40 years ago, what a person of such profound ignorance is doing answering questions in the history section I do not know.
