Question:

Women: Could you watch such a thing?

I was recently talking to a friend of mine who is a professor of history, and the discussion somehow morphed into a discussion of rape, and punishment. She said that at one time, several countries and societies punished rapists by removing their p***s (sometimes at the hand of the victim herself)in a sort of public event. The crowd was often made up largely of women.

Now I'm not suggesting that this approach be used today, nor am I looking to discuss the cruelty of using such an approach to punish rapists.

What I'd like to know is how would other women feel about seeing such an event? If the rapist was unquestionably guilty, would you watch such a punishment? Why or why not? If so, how do you think you would feel watching it?

  1. I'd want to watch. It's not pleasant but the curiosity would get the best out of me.

  2. if the guy raped me then i would gladly watch it. they deserve it

  3. Well, not that i sympathize with rapists, but this is a little bit barbaric, as well as flawed.

What kind of rapists would be included in this? If i'm 18 and have s*x with my 17 year old underaged girlfriend, do i deserve this?

Should we implement this, would you be willing to have women's clitoris's cut out in the same fashion?

The other problem i have with this is the p***s isn't just a s*x organ, we use it to urinate, we couldn't urinate without it, causing us to slowly die from the inability to eliminate waste, or be put on a colostomy bag for life, which is expensive to the state as well as extremely inconvenient.

To be honest the big problem i have with this idea is 1. There is no way to repair the damage if the accused is innocent.

Its the same reason i oppose the death penalty, what about the innocents? If you throw em in jail you can release them, but you can't bring em back from the dead or put their penises back on.

Decent Human: You think men dont know what its liked to be raped? Men are prison raped every day. And trust me, its at least as violent as a man-woman rape.

Try to get your facts right before you talk out your ask and try to act as if every women has been raped and "men wouldn't understand".

Snarky: Awesome, no punishment is too brutal for evil men, while were at it lets make it so any rape accusation gets this wonderful punishment, because a woman would never lie, rite? rite?

But no, no female rapist deserves this, she was just traumatized as a child, she deserves none of the blame, no need to include them in the barbaric punishment, that is reserved for the dirtbag evil beings known as men.

    You make me sick.

  4. I have never heard of this. Did she say when and where this took place? I'm very curious to know.

As for the question...no. I think that form of punishment, especially when performed in front of a crowd, is barbaric and sickening, regardless of the crime.

EDIT-Jake...I don't really know why you would think this has anything to do with feminism, or is a product of feminism, since feminism has really only been around for about 40 years...do you really think this has happened within the past 40 yrs, in a WESTERN country, where feminism has flourished? Really?

Another example of why people should think before they post.

  5. I've been raped.  Yes I would watch.  I think that if they went really slow and did it bit by bit with a nail clipper...

But then, I'm a vengeful b*tch.  No forgiveness from me.

  6. I would not watch it nor would I condone it.  Sorry, but that is just horrible.  Now I would shoot them in the head.  Does that make sense??

  7. I could probably watch it, it can't be any worse then having to watch you post this same question over and over again

  8. NO.  I don't want to see that, or watch someone hanged disemboweled alive, drawn and quartered, beheaded, have their eyes gouged out, have their hands cut off.

If I do, I'll go to Afghanistan, Iran or Saudi Arabia.

Those things happened a long time ago in most parts of the world.  I live in a civilized country.

  9. Yes, I could watch it.  I could even cut off that offending sausage and shove it right up his bottom so he knows the pain and humiliation of how it feels.

Rape is barbaric and a rapist deserves what he gets.  Take away his dignity (along with his p***s) and make him suffer.  After all,  he ruined the lives of others and enjoyed making them suffer, and he must be stopped.

As for female rapists -  women certainly don't penatrate anyone with their vaginas that I've ever heard of!  A man can ruin a woman's body and mind with his p***s during a rape.  The pain a man can inflict is not equal with a female who rapes, you must admit because her genitals do not inflict pain.  No sense in mutilating  women's reproductive organs if they aren't used to violate someone.  You'd have to find another way to punish a female rapist because she shouldn't get away with it, either.

  10. I believe this is still being performed in Iran. Rape is forbidden in Iran and when a woman is raped (she is considered an outcast and no longer a a virgin or a woman that can be married, something like that)

So the men have two choices, become a woman or the death penalty.

  11. To the guy who thinks this is a result of radical feminism: countries that would permit this sort of mutilation are just as likely to behead a woman for cheating on her husband, so get your facts straight before you speak!

Personally, even if I were a victim I would not want to see this or even know about it. While a rapist should be severely punished I don't believe in torture for anyone. I would rather just see him put in jail for life where he can't hurt anyone else.

  12. Unequivocally could not watch such torture. You can't fight violence with violence. That's what it comes down to. It doesn't matter how guilty a person is, there should be no enjoyment made out of anyones pain. Even if they are disgusting rapists. How would I feel watching it? I'd feel like humanity has been brought to a new level of shame.

  13. I could watch this no more than I could watch a woman be brutalized and mutilated. My God...WTF is going on anymore...

  14. well im not squeamish at all, so i believe i COULD watch it.

i just dont think that i would really WANT to.

this seems like a very severe punishment for a crime.

but i guess it could be justified.

i mean, if a man's going to torture a woman with his d**k, why shouldn't he have it cut off?

  15. And then what would happen to the 10% of rapist that are women, the womb been removed in public, then why stop there, there is always stoning, and burning at the stake

You are a very sick, ill person!!! Get some immediate therapy from a good psychoanalysis

    This is not cleaver

The world needs law and justice; this thinking will end up getting a lot of women around the world hurt

I've been to countries where 'Female Castration' takes place dozens of them go tragically wrong each week

    edit:

One more thing WHERE does your friend lecture I would like to know the university, not the name of the person, I am a lecturer at Greenwich and university of east London, UK

I want to know which branch of history her/his Uni has under its belt

  16. i'm a guy and that is seriously some ****** up ****. i don't know where you got all that information from but there should be a movie about it.

  17. I could watch it without even flinching. i may even smile a bit.

  18. Why stop there? Bring back the Circus Maximus or the Coliseum. Bring back real Gladiatorial Combat. Let those condemned to death fight it out to the death. Forget Ultimate Fighting. Hey why go half way?

We are descending into barbarism. The truth is that the Innocence Project has freed men on Death Row, and Men convicted of Rape. The Wrong offender or Perp was in prison some for nearly three decades. I would say focus on getting the right guilty party convicted first.

  19. Personally, i think rapists should be RAPED.  But i'm all for the weenie chopping too.  I'm undecided as to whether or not i'd view it though.

To the guys on here who think this is extreme, as a male they couldn't possibly understand.  Rape victims live with their attack for the rest of their lives.  Experiencing something so traumatic changes who they are forever.  Most of them live in fear unable to have healthy sexually relationships with men.

So if the vitcim is gonna be messed up for life, so should the attacker.

  20. I am actually a rape survivor, and discussions of that sort make me sick... Many years ago, right after the rape I was sooo angry at rapist, myself for letting him get away with it and the world at large for excusing a crime of this magnitude. So, I probably would of felt better on some level, if I could pay him back in some way... However, we are not living life of wild animals, and as human society should uphold the law, no matter how ridiculous it is at times like these...

  21. Sounds a little too mediaeval for me.

  22. I'm not sure If i'd have to stomach to actually see the ripping off part but I'd show up at the gathering, and chant with the crowd. Back then punishment was basically an eye for an eye.. you steal you get your hand chopped off, you rape you get your p***s ripped off.

  23. I won't be able to watch it, but I won't stop them from doing it. As a matter of fact, I'll encourage them to do it.

  24. As a history teacher, I'm not sure I've heard of such activities on a large societal scale.  Perhaps towns or villages used this as a method, but male rapists were often not punished.  Rape was (is) an accepted weapon of war.  It was (is), sadly, a part of life for those in our past.  It discouraged inbreeding between clans.

I certainly don't support rape, but I'm curious as to what countries and what societies allowed women to commit such an act.  Often, women were found to be at fault for getting raped.

  25. I couldn't watch it, but they deserve it.

  26. ugh. no one deseves to get their package ripped off. Geez, just throw him in jail.

To Decent human: so the guys who actually do get raped don't know what it feels like because they are males? Have you never heard the phrase "dropped the soap". It's not a friggin' joke.  Think about what you say before you type it because when you don't you come off as a jackass

  27. Can you put a link that shows a legitimate source that proves such a thing really happened? I'm sorry, but that sounds like an urban legend.

  28. I know many men that would watch if that rapist did it to a woman close to them, ie sister, wife, daughter! And if I knew the victim, I would most likely be there to! Not because it's women against men, but because all rapists need to know that women are speaking up for our bodies!!
