Q: Do you know what is in your make up etc?

Beloved sisters!

I have made choices to begin making my own lotions & lip glosses. I used to make them years ago but life is filled with change that is sometimes impossible to keep up with.

Even many "natural" products contain things like lanolin and dimethicone, which are unhealthy.

I enjoy red lips just as much as the next beloved sister but I don't want to fill my body with toxins in the process. There are happy mediums.

Yes, I am well aware. You can find REAL natural and organic products over the internet, but because they are made from shea butter, mango, butter, and essential oils they are more expensive than the c**p sold in drugstores. I feel sorry for the women who think that just because Maybelline and Covergirl claim that their mineral makeup is NATURAL that it really is natural. You get what you pay for, and if you spend $5 on a product from the drugstore that "claims" it's natural...it most likely isn't.

Yeah, I believe the majority of us look at the ingredients before we purchase what we want or need. And yes, there are many products that are unhealthy. Those of us that can usually try to get better products but they do cost more money. Personally, I tend to only use makeup when I go out for special occasions. I don't see any point in wasting or using something on my face when I stay at home or just go to the supermarket. I'm not trying to impress anyone, so that's why I only put makeup on my skin when I have to. Although I do believe in using soap-free cleansers and toners because I have very sensitive skin and my skin does not like a whole lot of 'additives' that are put into certain makeups and lotions. There is an excellent line of skin care available from Deep Sea Cosmetics. It all contains Dead Sea Salt and is actually very healing and smoothing to skin.
