Women and white van drivers?

Question

Following on from my last question, I've noticed that an overwhelming number of trouble makers on the road for me so far fall into 2 categories:

Self righteous females, and white van drivers. These 2 groups have been the exclusive bane of my life since I've started riding.

My question is simple, does this mean these women are like a bunch of butch, hairy men, or that white van drivers are a bunch of big girls?

IMO the trouble for me on the road, is people that have a too high opinion of their own driving, but not the necessary skills, go too fast hence the crashes. I wouldnt mind if they just killed or maimed themselves, but they involve others.

Both can be blubbering idiots, hard to distinguish which is which.  Not all of them are driving white vans either.  I've come across both in any kind of vehicle.

well I am not in any of your categories, Im not butch or hairy and i dont drive a white van lol

I have a few friends who are bikers so I always keep an eye out for bikes and try to allow them room etc.

You have to admit though spike (as my friends do) that there are quite a few idiot bikers out there who havent a clue how to ride a bike safely and sadly they are the ones who give the responsible ones a bad name.

As for white van drivers!!!!!!! I completely agree with you :0)))

Ha Ha! The white van drivers...rofl...where I live, most of those white vans are some kind of construction workers (plumbers, painters, etc) and the vast majority of them have DUI license plates (a punishment for driving under the influence of alcohol here is that they can make you use this special red and yellow license plate so everyone knows you had a DUI). So, yes, I would agree that white van drivers are pretty scarey. What do you mean by self-righteous females? I'm picturing soccer moms in big suv's talking on the phone and putting on make-up while driving. If that's what you mean, I again agree.

But what about those jerk on the motorcycles who cut in and out of traffic and pop wheelies going 70mph on the interstate and all the unsafe things they do??? Totally not cool.

There are safe and unsafe drivers/riders out there. They don't fit any stereotypes...some are safe and some aren't and that's all there is to it.

lousy driving does not discriminate-they come all varieties driving all kind of vehicles

nice one,my only problem with them is on our motorways,the women,and quite a lot of male drivers,if you can call them that,have got this thing about driving in the middle lane instead of getting over into the first lane and freeing up the the other two,as if we have'nt got enough problems with congested roads.

As for the white van boys,the best thing we could do is restrict all white van engines to 50mph,would'nt that p**s them off?..no more breathing down your kneck

Hmm... most of my trouble, when riding to work, involves something like a Ford Escort or Toyota Tercel full of rednecks screaming at me and throwing beer bottles.

Interestingly enough, though, I was nearly clipped the other day by an overly aggressive Suburban... with an Obama sticker on it. Aren't those folks supposed to hate SUVs?

Ah, well... when I ride, I just hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
