Question:

Women at my gym are tired of guys checking them out

OK, at my gym a group of women have formed this group to stand up to the male members checking them out. However, this group of women always wear the most provocative workout outfits, such as really tight little short shorts and tight tops, even ones with bare midriff.

Isn't it a little ridiculous to expect men to not check you out when your dressed like that? If you don't like guys checking you out, then don't dress that way! It's the gym, not a fashion show! Look at us guys, we're all wearing loose gym clothes.

What do you think? Are they being ridiculous? After all we're guys, we can't help our natural instincts.

  1. Sure. Let them go running home to put their burkas on so they can expect some respect.

There's a difference between looking and staring with drool running out of your mouth.

The old "women should cover up unless they want to be raped or ogled or fondled or assaulted or leered at" argument gets old after a while.

I didn't realize men found it so hard to control themselves.

  2. I Never understood why women cant understand that thats a hard thing to resist I take a peak and look away as well. I tried to resist the urge for a week. I couldnt do it when the girls who sat behind me started signing each other bras.

  3. Yes, you can. You can focus on your workout and leave them alone. It's really not as hard as you make it sound.

  4. I have to agree with you. I don't put on a tight shirt with cleavage and think nobody is supposed to look! Women need to feel desired, and enjoy being "checked out" but they wouldn't admit it. They are ridiculous, but that's never going to change. For every woman wearing a tight pair of shorts there's a man who whistles when she walks by...to support her conviction that all men are pigs :))

As for the group in your class - tell them what you wrote here. But i think they won't change the way they dress, because the wouldn't feel attractive in a loose t shirt and baggy gym pants ;)

    PS I am a woman

  5. Give them the number of that fat women's gym.

  6. Actually, I have to agree with you here.

As you say, if someone isn't trying to draw attention to themselves, it's not difficult (and actually makes more sense in terms of comfort) to dress in something looser that covers more of the torso than this sort of two-piece workout-swimsuit thing that's become popular with women at gyms.

If I came to work out in a speedo thong, I would expect people to stare.  More realistically, if I showed up in one of those heavy vest things that guys with huge arms and pudgy stomachs use to try to show off their arms, I would also not be surprised if people noticed, considering that that's pretty much the sole purpose that garment is made for.  Instead, I use a running shirt, which is comfortable and suitable for workouts and doesn't 'accidentally' spotlight any major muscle groups to show off.

But I don't.  My body looks fine exposed, but I simply choose not to expose most of it at the gym, since I'm not there to show off, which is a simple matter of dressing accordingly.  If other people also don't want to be 'checked out,' they have the same option available to them.

All that said, if it's getting to the point that people are actually ASKING you not to check them out, you're probably not being as subtle as you think you are, and you might want to see if you can find other ways to entertain yourself.

  7. they lie, they enjoy the attention they are getting, its a compliment to them.

  8. Do what I do... When I see one of those conceited chicks in my gym... I walk past her like I dont notice her and "accidentally" knock her down with my shoulder. Then I apologize and offer her my hand so she can get up... but before she can grab my hand I pretend my phone is ringing so I reach for the phone and walk away. That'll teach them a lesson.

  9. All women, and I mean all women enjoy being noticed. I'm not sure what this particular group of women have an issue with. As long as the men are looking and not acting on it, there is no serious problem. It's interesting how some women want to reform male biology. What they are ultimately saying is that they want to control your thoughts. Our thoughts ultimately control our behavior/actions.

  10. Lies! They know they like. They expect it too if they hate it so much then don't wear cloths like that. Eye-rape that's a new word for me. It's ok to do that.

  11. Of course, the answer would be to go to a female only gym but then they wouldn't have anything to whinge about.

I will guarantee you that as these women get older and uglier they will start whinging that they are invisible to men and no men check them out. They know full well that the skimpier the clothing and although it is completely impracticle the more likely they are to get attention from men.

In a book called Fem X a woman describes how she likes to dress s**y to attract men so she can burn them. Same sort of thing here.

Why you blokes put up with this c**p from females I don't know. My suggestion would be to slip the owner a few bucks to make it a male only gym and get rid of them.
