  1. In 2005, 57.4 percent of bachelor’s degrees in the United States were earned by women, 42.6 percent by men, and for the first time, the number of women entering medical school exceeded the number of men. Law school stats are equal: about 50/50.

  2. Yes I believe this is a recent phenomenon.  Buttressed by "Take out Daughters To Work" and other efforts, females now outnumber males in college, law school, and medical school attendance.  SO it is axiomatic that the National Honor Society has more females.

And what is so wrong with that?

  3. I can not tell you the company I worked for in the past, but it was one of the most recognized pharmaceutical companies in the world. I was privy to inside information. It was projected that there would be more female physicians than male physicians in less than ten years. As a result of this research, they are planning on having a sales force that is more female that male. They believe that female physicians would be more influenced by female sales reps than males. So I believe that what you read is true. Of course I disagree with what the company is doing. I poised a question to my boss at the time. If 50% percent of all doctors would be black in ten years. Would we hire a sales force that was 50% black?
