  1. Not from my experience.

  2. I'd have to say no, in my personal experience. Women tend to behave overtly jealously towards other women, and when placed in a position of power, can tend to abuse this authority. Not that men have never behaved this way, or that all women do, but the majority of hostile work environments are brought about as a result of this power struggle. Guys tend to abuse their authority in other ways, by demanding sexual favors, etc., which can make it uncomfortable for women to work in such settings. Overall though, its about even. I've worked for excellent female managers, and excellent male managers, at about the same rate.

That's my two cents for ya.

  3. Suuuuure they do. Hewlett Packard just proved that.

  4. No, not at all, necessarily.  This is PC / liberal thinking, however.

  5. not always

  6. No, especially when they manage men.

In my experience, guys always try to get away with stuff with a female manager that they could never get away with men managers. When it comes down to it, it's a respect thing
