  1. Nothing to worry about the procidure take less then 10 minutes and the recovery is really up to you and how you react to the sedation. relax it will be a piece of cake

  2. oh girl- people are about to start harrassing you about abortion.  i dont know the reasons for why you r getting this done and its none of my business as this is a forum for questions and answers, not preaching, so here goes.  what i know of it- it is not a serious procedure.  if you are being put under, you wont feel a thing.  if you are having local anethesia then you may feel minor cramping- more uncomfortabel than anything.  as for recovery- you will feel like you have mild to severe cramps and you may have some heavy bleeding and clots.  take some tylenol or motrin and get some sleep- you will good as new.  rest for a few days also and drink plenty of water.  do not use tampons or insert anything else in the v****a for at leastfour weeks.  it can and prob will cause infection if you do. whether this is due to a medical problem or not, i wish you luck and am sorry for your loss.  for your peace of mind though- this shouldnt be a excrutiatingly physically painful experience- its pretty basic.  good luck

  3. I had a DNC and really it is not bad..I had a miscarriage and had to have a DNC..the surgery was real quick and I had no discomfort afterwards..( actually I felt better )

  4. i had one too...basically same story as firewoman. don't worry, going to the dentist is scarier.

  5. yes it is I had one in January of this year and it was fine. After you will be on bed rest and you will not be able to get up and do nothing . The medicine it will make u sleepy but it will make the pain go away.Good Luck to you and I hope that your next pregnancy is a successful one. I am working on my now.

  6. It really is, even though you think you're individual to what is going on, it's all too common.

I was in and out within 3 hours, they gave me a sedative to fall asleep and I wasn't aware of anything. I had mine done after I lost my son @ 20 wks and my placenta et al wouldn't come out.

I was as good as new afterwards, body wise. Mind wise is a different story.

  7. It is very common. You are drugged and don't know what's going on. I was in recovery for a couple of hours and then was discharged . Physically you are fine afterwards - but mentally, it takes a while.

You'll make it through. I'm sorry for what you are going thru.

    Best of luck !!

  8. Im sorry for your loss. It is never easy finding out you lost a child. A D&C is not a scary procedure. It is more scary to loos a child. I had a D&C to remove my ectopic pregnancy. You are worried about nothing. You will be a lil on the tender side and sleepy but other than that everything will be fine. Breathe and relax.

  9. When my sister had a D&C they actually put her completely to sleep but a sedative as well will pretty much leave you with not to much memory of what's going on. I know any type of surgery like this is scary but it's for the best. Not having a D&C could lead to serious infection later. Good luck and don't stess out to much it's all for the best.

  10. I had one last year at 13 weeks, It wasn't painful at all.  I actually felt much better afterward.  I was not only that but 3 months later I was right back pregnant.  Ian arrived may21st.  Good luck.

  11. I had to have one for a miscarriage. I had never had a surgery before so I was nervous. They gave me drugs that knocked me out and when I woke up it was over and they gave me Vicoden and I sat in a room for about an hour to recover. Then my husband drove me home. I had minor pain but I was cramping very badly due to the miscarriage before the surgery so I think the pain was from that. My pain was more emotional than anything. You should be fine.
