Women too busy to reproduce??? What about the species??? Can they ever be fully equal to men???

Question

With women becoming more and more empowered to work, its obvious that there are going to be less pregnancies and therefore less children...This therefore means that women will never be fully equal to men because if they were they would not produce enough children to sustain the species. What do you lot think???

PS: I am a guy writing this, not a girl lol.

I don't think women will be too busy to reproduce.  A woman has to be there for conception and the birth, but I'm sure anyone could fit that into their busy schedule.

It does take a long time to bring up a child, but it doesn't have to be women that do it.  The species would survive just as well if women gave birth and men did all the childcare, or even if men and women shared the responsibility for raising their children

There are over 6 billion of us on earth -too few of us is not the problem.  I'm not sure I get your 'logic'.  We could it tell you are a guy.   Your "Can they ever be fully equal to men???" gave it away.  And yes we can because we are equal to men.....

EDIT: So by your theory I am better than you because I earn more and have a better job?  Thats not true.  We have equal worth as human beings.

Currently, as the rate of working women is rising in America, the rate of childbirth is also skyrocketing. Are you not aware that the world population has grown from 4 to 6 billion people over the past few generations? (note that I'm not citing any specific source on this but I'm pretty sure I've read this in a bunch of places) And according to predictions, the human population is going to rise to dangerous amounts over the next few generations to come. So there is NO danger what so ever of the human race going extinct, unless we go extinct by breeding too much and destroying the planet and ruining the environment and killing each other and all that.

As for women and men being equal, all that talk about equality is silly because men and women are different. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Men and women can be equally good or whatever, but they will never be good in the same ways so comparing them like that is ridiculous.

France had this very problem - many women choosing to have a career, so they'd have fewer children, and the fertility rate was pretty low (less than 2 children per woman, at least). They've managed to solve the problem pretty well by offering extensive services that make it possible for a woman to have a career AND have children, like a national child care program. Their fertility rate has gone up quite a bit since the programs were started.

If you make a woman choose between either having children or working, many will choose to work, and the population will decline. If you make it easier for a woman to do both, chances are she will, and the population problem can be eliminated (or at least reduced).

Yep it's all going to fall to pieces. Men have collected the beans and woman have looked after the children, that is how it should be. It's how all other animals and insects work it's only untill now. It's gonna mess things up quite badly and us males are too cowardly to stand up for ourselves.

Yeah, there is something going on, i don't think the powers that be would let us reduce the population of potential taxpayers and consumers to this extent unless there was a something in it for them.

However, many countries have introduced incentives $2000 or what ever it is so perhaps counteracting it is on the agenda.

I believe these incentives will only encourage young girls and welfare recipients to breed and this will lead to a large population of undereducated, underpaid wage slaves who will help the west to compete with the east.

I think you where drinking when you drafted this post. Because that has to be one the more "stupid" theories of equality that I've have heard thus far. What does reproduction and equality have to do with one another? What does me not having a kid have to do with you respecting me enough in the work place to not call me out my name, or as a possible future employee give me a far shot at an opening based on my qualifications and not my s*x?

I seriously doubt the human species is in danger of extinction. There's to many children running around for us to die out anytime soon. Last time I checked (and I don't know about anyone else) Man was not on the endangered species list.

When it comes to reproduction, women are superior, as men cannot carry a fetus.  Men cannot reproduce without them, but science has shown that women can reproduce without men by splitting their own eggs.  

I wonder why you think women are inferior to men because men cannot reproduce without them.  That makes no sense.

If we are talking about equal pay, then that's easy enough, all that has to happen is that jobs be paid without regard to s*x.

So male or female would get paid the same for the same job.

Pay inequality is not an inborn sign of female inequality, its a social construct that will be ended when society decides to end it.  Its not an inborn trait.

I took it to mean that you meant they are less than equal.  Less than equal means inferior to.  

What else could you mean by that?  Different?  Different isn't quantitative.  That would make your question Can they ever be different from men.  Any one can tell you that of course women are different from men.   Differences have nothing to do with equality. They simply exist, each with its own value.  Not more or less, just different.

And yes women are equal to men. If men were superior they would give birth to themselves. Men are carried in wombs. And a womb is in a woman's body. I very much doubt that the species will ever die out, because women are still interested in having children, and always will be. We are programmed by nature to want to reproduce, and I don't think that's ever going to come to an end.

I don't think women are ever going to be 'equal' to men in the sense of having equal numbers of men and women  in every profession and at every level etc, but I don't think this matters in the least.  People nowadays seem to be rather boringly work-obsessed, but I think they will still want to reproduce in spite of that, and even career women seem to want to have children, so long as they can find someone else willing to look after them.

I wouldn't worry about the population falling too much.  There are 6 billion of us...frankly, we'd be way better off if there were a lot less people.  I'd love to see the world's population naturally fall to less than 1 billion.  

Additionally, if more public resources and funding went towards services for children and families, then more women would be willing to have kids because then it wouldn't compromise their careers.

But don't worry...even though not every woman is having the two children necessary to sustain the population, there are always going to be some women who will have way more than their fair share of children (though admittedly, sometimes these kinds of women are not the kinds of women who SHOULD be having ANY kids, period, for the sake of the population's gene pool, but whatever), so it will balance out (in quantity, but not necessarily quality).

Men are slacking in there jobs, mainly as they are too busy watching pórn on the internet, hence women working harder plus feeling more insecure to get labiaplastys and boob jobs so they work harder to make up for men slacking and to please you by getting plastic surgery.
