When I gave birth - I was out of it but I still remember the Doctors saying "uterus good". My aunt who was in the delivery room with me said that they picked up my uterus like they checked it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

  1. I was awake during my cesarean section, and I had an epidural with no other drugs, so I was NOT "out of it" at all... after they stitch up your uterus, before they sew up your muscle and skin they check the uterus to make sure they left no open spots and there is no damage done. Unless you had specific problems with your uterus, my first guess would be, they were simply checking to see if they did the job right and there were no rips or tears.

  2. Yea, they needed to make sure everything was okay... the way they cut you open and sewed you back together (sorry if that sounds gruesome)

But it's normal for them to check your uterus, and make sure they didn't leave anything behind in there!

  3. Yes.  When you have a C-section, they actually take the uterus out and look it over, then put it back in.  Very creepy to think they did that to me, but that is what they do.  You can watch c-section movies and they sometimes show this.  I don't remember exactly what they check for, though.

  4. I think thats because they make sure that you are contracting back to the size it was b4. They put me on pitocin after so i had contractions after.
